Week 9 - Conservation week - how can you support conservation week? Share your ideas with a comment on the blog.
Only 2 weeks left with lots to get done.
Profiles and getting our Topic finished are just a couple.
For conservation week we are hoping to take part in planting trees in the local community - watch out for photos. On Wednesday we will have the day at Ngakuru School for our yearly, friendly, winter sports competition where we verse Ngakuru and Horohoro Schools. Remember you permission and transport slips.
I have updated the maths WALTS as well as adding a link to the NZ Maths website for families.

Week 8
Well week 8 is here already, the time is going by so very fast. The year 7s are at manual this week - have an awesome time people. We look forward to hearing about what you get up to and what you learn.
As for the rest of us - I have decided to look at current events tomorrow and look at what has happened to Christchurch - This will link nicely into using you learning for relevant things going on around us and into the National Standards expectations.
If you have time this - do a mini inquiry on it, even year 7s

Jack Te Nahu Speech Finals
On Wednesday night, 25th August, 3 of our students attended the Jack Te Nahu Cup at Ngakuru. They
were, Tegan, Michaela and Marguerite. They did us proud and each one showed confidence and determination.
I was so impressed with the attitude and their outlook towards the whole experience. They were up against some stiff competition but came away positive and excited about the opportunity to have been a part of this learning experience. Well done girls...
They demonstrated our key competency, Participating and Contributing as well as our value for this term, Confidence, I am proud of them and of all the students in our class.
All the students have done themselves proud with how they put their speeches together and the enthusiasm and determination was outstanding, the growth from last year was highly evident. I am really looking forward to seeing next year's speeches as I know the reflections the students had were deep and thoughtful.
